Hello, my fellow music makers, how are you doing on your Lowrey organ these cold winter days. Let me know how you're keeping up with everything. Would love to hear from you.

A tip: The best way to read the blogs with all the comments is to click on the Post subject listed in the Archives on your left.

In my posting above, I should have said "in the Archives on your right." All my life, I have had trouble telling left from right.
So it's not an old age thing.

Just finished watching the NY Giants beat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. It sure was a good game!!

I'm hoping that this spot will serve some purpose, so I'm going to start posting some information that might, or might not, interest you.

E-mail received from Shirley Headrick:

This morning I received an email from Shirley Headrick. She wrote:

"We have one class left. All of the organs are gone back to Minneapolis except the Rhapsody and a tiny one. So we have been playing on the Rhapsody. I like it.....He said they were going to go back to Minneapolis and we would have one day to buy one if we wanted one....

"If you haven't heard, Westmoor Music has built a room for us with a little stage in it and will take over the Lowrey program starting in April. We are supplying them with numbers so they can call everyone. They are going to charge the cost of the materials and not the lessons. The manager from Sioux City is coming up to manage the program, and he is a great teacher, they said. They have EZ books there now and are ordering Lowrey organs. If someone does not have a Lowrey organ, they will put a small one out into their home and then they must decide if they will buy one in so many weeks. I thought he said 10 but Marlys said she thought it was 6. Anyhow, we do not know all the particulars as yet."

Want to watch video of some organ songs being played on U-Tube? Select the "U-Tube" label on your right, then scroll through the listing of 241 performances, and pick one you'd like to hear. Try it! You might like it. The first one, with Florian playing, is very, very good.

Everyone should watch Florian play. He is 17 years old and plays like a professional.

Hi Glenn,
Darlene and I went down and played at Schmitt Music for a few hours on Thursday so we could get used to the Rhapsody as there are only two organs left there. The other one is one of the smallest. We plan to go today Monday if the weather is not too bad. Our last class is Tuesday and then on to Westmoor in April. We just like to play when every we can and hope we can play out in the mall being Westmoor is already there.

Thanks, Shirley. That really is an advantage of being at Westmoor -- not having to transport the organ around, saving a lot of moolah. I suppose that will meet your LIFE requirements, for points, of playing for the public. I guess we'll find out soon. Glenn

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all you leprechauns. Looks like a good day to play in the snow -- and to stay indoors and play those Irish tunes. Glenn

Thanks for the info, Shirley. Could you post the names of the players, so that they might get some credit for playing?

I am changing my display name to glenn31, but I'm the same guy who was writing as dakotaguyretired. Just to keep everyone confused. LOL!
